Realme X2 VS Redmi K20-A Detailed Review

In India, competition between Realme and Xiaomi has gone beyond smartphones. During the past few decades, India has become a battleground for the Chinese companies. Xiaomi has adopted a unique strategy to sell it’s best products at the best price. Realme a sub-brand of OPPO is chasing Xiaomi. Xiaomi’s Redmi note series provides the best camera and better battery life. On the contrary pure performance at low price is furnished by Realme.

Realme X2 VS Redmi K20 features

Realme X2 VS Redmi

Realme X2 is reviewed the latest mid-range smartphone from the Chinese brand. The Realme X2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC, making it the first smartphone under Rs. 20,000 to have it. It’s designed around the Realme XT, with nearly identical ports and button placement. It also features a dewdrop notch with a large, Super AMOLED display and a in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone features two Nano-SIM card slots and a dedicated slot for a microSD card.

Redmi K20 gets the Snapdragon 730 SoC and comes equipped with the slightly lower-end 48-megapixel Sony IMX582 sensor. Xiaomi has finally brought the Redmi K20 to India Redmi K20 starts at Rs. 21,999 in India, and for that price, the phone offers a striking design, a notch-less AMOLED display, triple rear cameras including a 48-megapixel main snapper, a large 4,000mAh battery, and 18W fast charging.

Enough memory space

The Realme X2 has been launched in three variants in India — one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (Rs. 16,999); one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (Rs. 18,999); and finally 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (Rs. 19,999).

Redmi K20 comes in two variants – a base model with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and a higher-end configuration with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Unfortunately, there is no microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Battery life

Battery life is another strong area of the Redmi K20. In a week, which involves using social media and productivity apps throughout, an hour of gaming, a couple of hours of listening to music over Bluetooth headphones, and intermittent calls, the phone still had around 30 to 35 percent battery left in the tank at the end of each day.

Realme X2 for can be used full day. The 4,000mAh battery, coupled with the 8nm SoC will easily give you about a day and a half of runtime with medium to light usage. Unfortunately in HD video battery loop test Realme X2 ran for just 13 hours and 11 minutes, which was lower than expected.
The charging speed was also impressive. We were able to charge the Realme X2 from zero all the way to about 60 percent in half an hour, and up to 95 percent in an hour. This is due to the VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 feature and bundled 30W charger.

Display of Realme X2 Vs Redmi K20The Realme X2 screen is still relatively large, so using this phone comfortably with one hand can be challenging at times. Button placement is good and the layout of the ports is also the same as on previous Realme phones, with the speaker, USB Type-C port, and headphone socket all placed at the bottom. The X2 supports expandable storage and has a dedicated slot for a microSD card, in addition to the slots for two Nano-SIMs

They make the frame running around the sides of the phone of Series 6000 Aluminium and matches the color scheme of the rear panel. Overall, the Redmi K20 is built solidly and feels premium from the get-go.

The phone has Gorilla Glass5 on the front and the rear. The volume and power buttons are comfortably positioned on the right side, and both provide good tactile feedback when pressed. The power button has a red accent and stands out from the rest of the body. The camera module at the back of the Redmi K20 protrudes slightly.

The pop-up front camera module has LED lights that glow when, raised in dark surroundings. It also has a slight ring at the top that lights up and acts as the phone’s notification light, but it is hard to notice mostly when the phone is lying flat.

Camera – ‘Realme a step ahead’

Redmi K20 is embedded with three rear cameras (48MP + 13MP + 8MP)– a 48-megapixel Sony IMX582 sensor with an f/1.75 aperture, an 8-megapixel secondary camera with a telephoto lens and an f/2.4 aperture, and a 13-megapixel camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens and 124.8-degree field of view. Selfies are handled by a pop-up 20-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

Sapphire glass protects the lense, while the module itself is automatically retracted when the phone detects that it is falling. As for camera features, the Redmi K20 supports slow-mo video capture at up to 960fps and 4K video capture at 30fps.

There is a dedicated night mode, a 48-megapixel mode, lighting effects, and a tonne of beautification filters to play with.

Realme X2 have a primary 64-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 aperture; an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera; a 2-megapixel depth sensor; and a 2-megapixel macro camera i.e 64+8+2+2 MP

The Realme X2 lets you use Netscape for the selfie camera, which improved the exposure a bit even in dimly lit areas. The screen flash was bright and very effective in lighting up your face, even in very dark scenarios.

The Realme X2 can shoot 1080p selfie videos, and under good light, details were good and colors looked natural. There’s a new bokeh mode for selfie videos, which actually worked pretty well even when you have two faces in the frame. It even shows you the background blur effect in real-time, as you’re recording. Low-light selfie videos aren’t the best, but are passable provided there’s good artificial lighting around.

If the front camera is under good light, image quality will be quite impressive. Details were solid, the colors were accurate, and exposure was generally well-balanced. Even when shooting against the light the HDR works quite well, exposing our face and the background equally well.

Is Realme X2 Worth Buying?

Overall both the smartphones provide the best features. But Realme X2 leads in terms of price as its the most affordable smartphone as compared to Redmi K20.
